Our Services
Our riding lesson program is our most popular service.  What we
do is we teach each student how to handle one of the farm’s
horses, groom the horse, saddle and bridle the horse, and ride
the horse.  Our lessons are a full hour long, and about 15
minutes to 45 minutes are actually spent riding the horse.  We
offer private, semi-private and group lessons.  We have
two
horses (or ponies) that we use for lessons, Molly and
Abby.
Molly is our grade pony,
and Abby is our registered appaloosa
mare.  We hope to add one or two more horses to our lesson
group soon.
Both horses (ponies) were trained by Wahl-Rees
Farm.  Our youngest student is 5 years old, and the oldest
student is in her late 50s to early 60s (she did not offer to tell us
her birthday or age..).

We require our students to be able to wear heeled shoes,
preferably riding shoes or cowboy boots.  We have helmets
available upon request.  Our biggest student requirement is that
the student must be able to have a good attention span that
lasts a half hour to an hour (depending on the age of the
person).

We offer horse boarding in the six paddocks we have here.
Each paddock has its own water tank, and shade from the sun in
form of pine trees or a shelter.  We also have four stalls in the
barn located on our land.  One paddock has a “cow” fence, for
the younger horses, ponies, or those occasional “escape artists”
we get.  The rest of the fencing consists of three strands of
cable fence, and two strands of electric wire.

In order to board your horse at Wahl Farm, you must provide a
current Coggins, and proof your horse has been vaccinated with
the triple E's, tetanus and influenza.  The horse's feet must be
trimmed prior to arrival. The veterinarian and farrier expenses
will be charged to the owner.

We also offer horse hauling services in Lower Michigan. Please
call or e-mail for more information and price quotes, prices vary
due to gas prices.

Currently, we are not accepting horses in for training due to job
and family commitments, but we do plan to start training again in
the future.
